As a result we’ve got a website that is in the moment one step ahead of other regional portals, it has good usability, it’s simple for understanding. The loading time has significantly reduced.

Бизнес-задача и ее решение

The government of Udmurt republic faced the problem, that design of Regional portal of public services doesn’t fulfill their current objectives. They focused us on increasing usability of website for companies and individuals, according to administrative regulations; using the website as a place to present new public services to citizens; reducing cost of public services.

In order to fulfill these objectives we decided to make new interface design, increase loading speed, increase functionality, change the website content in order to give the website visitors exactly what they are asking for when they need it, make the navigation easier.

When we started to analyze design trends we discovered, that there were design templates created to unify all russian governmental e-services. There were fonts, icons and design principles, but in that moment they were not approved by federal government. The creation of unified design templates had been in process.
In fact if we use the design principles which wouldn’t be approved by federal government we would have to redesign website again. The other fact if we didn’t use them and the federal government would approve them we would have to redesign again too.

However we decided to take a risk and use this templates in our project. We were lucky that Udmurt government agreed to share with us this risk and use this templates. We knew that it’s hard to persuade government to use something which is not approved by federal government yet.

Fortunately We took a risk and we succeed. The unified design principle for e-services were approved.

We also changed some interface elements, deleted some excessive functionality which hadn’t stood the test of time.

Technology and tools
we used Vue.js because it helps to make some interactive elements even if the website page is static. We also used Gel Layout. it helps to unify the design of the project and increase development process.

Regional portal of public services is government supported system that provides access for companies and individuals to public services online. The system provides access to russian government approved online public services, accounting of citizens' applications online, opportunity to give a feedback to public services.
There are about 10000 visitors in Regional portal of public services everyday.
