Currently all city events are provided with special Izhevsk postcard with AR. Every citizen is looking forward new release of Izhevsk postcard.

The developers’ tasks were to create application for AR, to store all released postcards, to simplify adding new postcards, to aggregate app analytics.


We used to update the application in order to add new postcard. It took a lot of time, especially because we waited for approve in apple store. That’s why we had chosen
Vuforia. But there was another problem using this service. Vuforia limits scanning markers per day.
Testers could meet the limits. That’s why we decided to develop our own web-service. The task of this web-service is to send data with postcards.
We used Unity3D to develop the app for smartphones. We also used Yandex AppMetrica to view the place of receipt. Web-service was based on .Net Core

“ Izhevsk Postcard ” - is non-profit project. It’s aimed to tell people from all over the world about Izhevsk city and its events. It describes Izhevsk the way the citizens feel.
“ Izhevsk Postcard ” is absolutely free. Any citizen can get a postcard during city events and promotions.
More than 29 000 postcards have been distributed since 2016 . Last year there were 3 special events where any participant can get the postcard.

In 2017 We developed a postcard with AR devoted to 6th Ice sculpture festival. When you point your smartphone at the postcard you can see 3D sculpture of Angel.
In 2018 we released special postcard with AR devoted to gastronomic event. The event is called “The day of Udmurt dumplings”. Event-makers invited ordinary people to become artists. As a result using AR you can see udmurt national character making national dumplings.
Also in 2018 we developed a postcard with AR devoted to 60th anniversary of Izhevsk Opera and Ballet theatre. If you point your smartphone at postcard you can see dancing ballerina accompanied by classical music.
